Little Dresses

Well, I won't lie...I have little bitty dresses on the brain. And I figured it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and make a few, since there's another baby boom in our friends and family...so far ALL girls :)

I saw Amy Butler's "Little Stitches for Little Ones" when I was on a date with my hubby at Barnes & Noble recently. This book is FULL of adorable handmade baby ideas that are numbered 1-4 for difficulty. It also comes with a pocket full of patterns.

My first attempt is going to be the "Easy Empire-waist Top" on p.75

Have any of YOU used this pattern/book? Any tips??

I'm going to start with Heather Bailey's new "Nicey Jane" fabrics in aqua and yellow...LOVE 'em. I'll let you know how it all comes out!

http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/products/books_updates.php look here because there was a small correction.

I have both of her books and have made things from both... I am not a huge fan of her directions but the things I have made came out ok.

That is going to be so cute with the Nicey Jane fabric. I love HB! Good luck:)

I can't wait to see the finished items. The fabric is lovely.

OMGosh Ariel.... could you imagine going over to the other side??? My husband has always told me... how happy is was that we only had boy's because I would have put him into the poor house if I had a little girl... ;) I have that book... but am of no use... I never made anything in it :(

kisses, Heather

I just made the little baby wrap (don't have the book in front of me --- it's the one with the hood and the belt). It came out beautifully, and just took a few hours. I'm a newbie, so you might be much faster.

Funny thing about that book...I keep wanting to call it "Little Stitches for Little Bitches." Bad?
